2014 marks TED’s 30th anniversary, and the theme for TED2014 is simply this: “The Next Chapter.” We’ll be seeking to understand what are truly the most significant developments of the last 30 years … and applying that knowledge to understand what’s ahead.

TEDxJohannnesburg has secured the rights to stream TED2014 live to a public audience for one day only, on Tuesday 18 March from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. The venue is the hospitable JoziHub at 44 Stanley Avenue, in Milpark, Johannesburg. The webcast focuses on Sessions 2 and 3 — ‘Retrospect’ and ‘Reshape’. Highlights include Hollywood special effects tech designer Bran Ferren, legendary type designer Mathew Carter, and New York’s High Line urban planner Amanda Burden. The pick of the day promises to be cruciverbalist David Kwong, who creates illusions for films and TV, and makes verbal magic as a crossword puzzle maker for the New York Times.

For a R120 contribution you get to enjoy a live connection to two sessions at the most important TED event of the year. Snacks and refreshments included.
