With Absolut Vodka’s renewed sponsorship of the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2016, also comes a unique and groundbreaking African Musical Collaboration project.

The multi-faceted One Source project which consists of a concept album, a music video and a documentary series, sees popular South African Motswako artist Khuli Chana, collaborate with other leading African musicians in a journey across the continent to discover their connectedness.

Zimbabwean born film director Sunu Gonera carefully captured every moment of Khuli’s journey and his interactions with various collaborators. Through the documentary series, African music fans will get to go behind the scenes with Khuli and his fellow collaborators to see how the creative process takes shape. This will give fans a true insight into the trials and tribulations, joys and jubilations of the creative journey – from concept to final product.

“I want to celebrate Africa’s creativity and uniqueness through this album. I want to remind people that we all come from the same place, that we are all connected and that we are stronger together. I also want my fans to really get involved in the process and let me know how and what we could be doing to make the best possible album and music video to really showcase African unity and innovation” – Khuli Chana.

Fans are encouraged to share their ideas and creativity across Absolut Vodka’s social media platforms.

“Powerful artistic collaborations prove that the most meaningful connections are made between people who are Absolut about who they are and what they believe in. It’s these kinds of connections that Absolut want inspire and will be celebrating through the ONE Source project” – Melanie Campbell, Marketing Manager of White Spirits at Pernod Ricard.

The first episode, which aired from 26 September on MTV Base, features Khuli Chana and his collaboration with Nigerian-born singer, songwriter Venus Bushfires.
